WISCONSIN AND AUBURN TO SQUARE-OFF IN OUTBACK BOWL

 

Tampa, FL— The Wisconsin Badgers and Auburn Tigers will square-off in the Outback Bowl on January 1st in Tampa, bowl officials announced today.  The Badgers are 10-3 and ranked No. 17 in the AP and USA Today Polls while the Tigers are 8-4 and ranked No. 19 in both polls.  It will be only the fourth time these teams have played in more than 120 seasons of their football history.

 

“We are thrilled to extend an invitation to the University of Wisconsin and Auburn University to play in this year’s Outback Bowl,” said Outback Bowl Chairman Kevin Smith.  “These are two exciting teams that fans are really going to enjoy watching on New Year’s Day.    We look forward to hosting the Badgers and Tigers teams and their fans, and ensure them they will have a memorable experience in the Tampa Bay area.”

 

“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected to play in the Outback Bowl and a great reward for our players and the terrific season they have had,” said Badger Coach Gary Andersen.  “Tampa is a great destination for our team and fans and Auburn is a very quality opponent from a great conference. We are looking forward to the matchup.”

The Outback Bowl will be played on January 1st at 12:00 Noon ET at Raymond James Stadium.     Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster at (813) 287-8844or 1-800-745-3000 and can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.  Tickets can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet in the state of Florida.
