MEDIA ALERT: 2nd Annual Babe Zaharias Day, 100th Birthday Celebration
What: Celebrate the 100th birthday of a sports legend. The 2nd Annual Babe Zaharias Day celebrates the memory of this extraordinary athlete. Newly elected Mayor Bob Buckhorn will declare Saturday, June 25 as “Babe Zaharias Day” in a special ceremony at the Babe Zaharias Golf Course. The day will include two 4-person scramble golf tournaments with shotgun starts at 9am and 2pm. Live entertainment begins at 10am showcasing local acts Zuberi Brown, Big Wiggler and Johnny G. Lyon. Why: To celebrate the 100th birthday of Babe Didrikson Zaharias. Proceeds will benefit the Moffitt Cancer Center.
Who Should Attend: Tournament requires prior entry, but festivities are open to the public.
