PRESS RELEASE: Tampa Sports Authority Golf Courses celebrate GOLFTOBER to benefit Moffitt Cancer Center / Fish FRYdays also part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

(Tampa, FL- Sept. 20, 2013) Celebrate Golftober during “Breast Cancer Awareness” month at Rocky Point, Rogers Park or Babe Zaharias Golf Courses and you could be helping find a cure for breast cancer. Join in the celebration by sponsoring a hole in memory of a loved one or in honor of a cancer survivor. The hole sign will be up the entire month of October and 100% of those proceeds go directly back to Moffitt Cancer Center. Tampa Sports Authority is also proud to announce that every Friday during the month of October, Tampa Bay Fisheries, Inc. is supporting Golftober by offering  “Fish  FRYdays” at each TSA golf course.  Every golfer will receive a complimentary entree of fish on the day of their round.

58th Annual City Amateur Medal Play Championship

TAMPA, FL, August 27, 2010— The 58th Annual City Amateur Medal Play Championship will be held at Rogers Park Golf Course on Saturday, October 30th through Sunday, October 31st. The tournament will consist of three divisions: the Tampa City Men’s amateur, Senior Men’s amateur and Ladies’ amateur. All amateur golfers are encouraged to sign-up by Sunday, October 24th at 12:00 p.m. Entries are limited to 120 players and may fill up before this date. Players will compete in a 36-hole stroke play for a $125 entry fee. This fee will include a courtesy practice round with a $15 cart fee. Tournament rounds include range balls, carts and a tee gift.

Amateur men and women should be at least 18 years of age or a high school senior with a verified handicap index of 18.0 or less. Senior amateur men that are 50 years of age or older with a verified handicap index of 18.0 or less may sign up for both the men’s division and the senior men’s division for $175. After Saturday’s round, the golfers will enjoy a lunch buffet in the Rogers Park clubhouse.
