Kenny Chesney Reveals How He’s Prepping for No Shoes Nation Tour

Kenny Chesney still has more than a month before his No Shoes Nation Tour kicks off at Raymond James Stadium on March 16, but he’s hard at work preparing to hit the road. He’s currently swamped in video footage for an even bigger video presence during his show while also making decisions on lighting designs. Beginning February 13, Kenny and his band members will report to an undisclosed location to begin tour rehearsals. “I used to say we’re like a baseball team: six months on, six months off, because I love baseball so much,” Kenny said. “But the truth is, what we do to create what people see from a show this size out there on the road really does take a lot of work, a lot of thought and a lot of practice. And the great thing about my crew is, they get as much a charge seeing the fans respond to what goes into all this work as the band and I do when we’re on stage.”

Kenny, who released his new single, “Pirate Flag,” on January 31, has been in edit bays and looking at lighting rigs since January in preparation for the tour. With the instant success of his new single, he’s that much more excited for his band to report to rehearsals next week.

“That’s when the music really starts happening, and everybody’s playing and catching up,” he said. “These are my brothers of the road, and we live to get out there and be a part of everybody’s summer! So when we’re working up the new songs – and ‘Pirate Flag’ is gonna rock – or maybe something people haven’t heard in a while, we’re already imagining how the fans are gonna respond!”

Kenny is always about his fans. His ultimate goal with every tour is to give them a show that they’ll remember. That’s one of the key components he takes into consideration while planning his next tour.

“The No Shoes Nation are the best music fans in the world – that’s why we named the tour after the fans!” he said. “They love these songs like they live their lives in ‘em, and we take that serious. They come out every summer and throw everything they got at us so hard, that’s why we rehearse – just the band – for a couple weeks before we even think about production! The music has to be right, so we’re gonna make sure we’re ready.”

The No Shoes Nation Tour kicks off March 16 at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James’ Stadium, home of the Buccaneers. His new album, Life On A Rock, will be released April 30.

With the drumbeat to summer growing louder, rehearsals for the hottest tour of the summer are in full swing. The 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour, with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, hit the next level of production yesterday when Chesney and McGraw met for their first on-stage, joint rehearsal.

"Yesterday's rehearsal with Tim and I and our bands was as electric and exciting as we anticipated," said Chesney, the man with nine summers of playing to crowds of more than one million a year. "It's been a long time since we've played on stage together and the chemistry and excitement is just so natural. It's going to be a dream come true to have our years of friendship come together on stage for what will be one unpredictable, loud, hell of a summer, and I can't wait," Chesney continued.

The 3+ hour working rehearsal found the friends working out songs for the tour, which kicks off June 2 in Tampa, FL. With shows at more than 20 stadiums across the country, including MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford NJ, Soldier Field in Chicago, IL, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA and Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, TX, the tour is set to be the musical event of 2012.

This weekend's Amazing Race 2012 charity event in New Orleans with Drew Brees and Matthew McConaughey marks Chesney and his band's first public performance since the debut of "Feel Like a Rock Star" at the ACM Awards. Chesney's 13th studio album, 'Welcome To The Fishbowl,' will be available on June 19 (BNA Records) and the first single, "Feel Like A Rock Star," with tourmate Tim McGraw, debuted in early April and has quickly climbed the charts.

Kenny Chesney to Open 2011 “Goin’ Coastal Tour at Raymond James Stadium

TAMPA, FL, November 4, 2010—Country megastar, Kenny Chesney announced today that he will kickoff his 2011 Goin’ Coastal Tour at Raymond James Stadium on March 19. After a hiatus in 2009, the four time CMA/ACM Entertainer of the Year also announced the first nine stadium stops on the tour with additional arena and amphitheatre dates to be released at a later time. Chesney was the second biggest ticket seller of the decade and the only artist in any genre to sell over a million tickets for 8 consecutive summers. Tickets for the Tampa show will go on sale Saturday, December 11th at 10 a.m. at www.Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. In attempts to make the show more affordable to fans, Chesney will make close to 14,000 tickets available for $25 (plus service fees) each for the Raymond James Stadium concert. Tickets are $25, $69.50, $99.50, $109.50 for club tickets, $125 floor seats, and $250 in the sandbar.

“With four acts on the bill, we’ve created these shows as all day events, and are working hard to make them affordable to our fans,” says tour promoter Louis Messina.

Chesney will co-headline the show with Zac Brown Band, GRAMMY’s “Best New Artist” in 2010. Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker will open for these two country megastars.

The man the Associated Press calls “among the hardest charging acts on the road” is already excited about returning to the stage. “We’re going to be playing new songs and lots of old favorites, and I can already tell it’s going to be a lot of fun,” says Chesney. “I can’t wait to get back in front of my fans.”

Chesney took a break from the road in 2010 to record his new album 'Hemingway's Whiskey' (BNA Records), which entered the Billboard 200 at #1 (his sixth album to achieve that feat) and to produce "The Boys of Fall," the documentary about high school football now available for pre-order at http://www.walmart.com and in Walmart beginning November 9. "I've always loved playing stadiums because I get to see so many of my fans at one time, but after everything I learned from the football heroes I met while making 'The Boys of Fall,' I'm seeing stadiums in a whole new way," Chesney says.

Fans can buy tickets at http://www.kennychesney.com’. The Kenny Chesney Official Fan Club will be offering presale tickets for all shows on Kenny’s 2011 Tour prior to the general public on-sale. To get access to these exclusive presales, fans can go to http://www.kennychesney.com.
