Mayor Buckhorn to Attend Rocky Point Golf Course Grand Re-Opening
Ceremony to recognize major course renovation

TAMPA, FL., January 28,2016- After going through a seven month, $740,000 renovation, a grand re-opening ceremony is scheduled at Rocky Point Golf Course on Tuesday, February 2nd at 9:30 a.m. The par 71, 6,315 yard course, located at 4151 Dana Shores Drive, is owned by the City of Tampa and managed by the Tampa Sports Authority (TSA).  

The ceremony will be hosted by TSA President/CEO Eric Hart and includes speakers Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn,TSA Golf Committee Chairman Thomas Scott and First Tee of Tampa Bay Executive Director Ian Baxter. This major renovation includes all new TifEagle greens, new tee boxes, Celebration Bermuda grass surrounds plus new greenside and fairway bunkers.The renovation also includes enhanced features, such as new retaining walls and landscaping. All these changes combine to make Rocky Point a course that is enjoyable, challenging and aesthetically pleasing to golfers of all skill levels.
