Tampa Sports Authority Internships

All internship positions are filled for 2011-2012. If interested in applying for 2012-2013, please check back with us in January 2012.

Operations Assistants:

The Tampa Sports Authority offers a 7-month and a one year operations assistant internship. Each internship involves working as a hands on assistant to the Raymond James Stadium operations department.

- Yearlong internship from July 2011 to July 2012
- 7-month internship from July 2011 to February 2012

Interns have a variety of responsibilities that include:

- Event preparations
- Ordering stadium related items
- Distributing passes and credentials
- Creating additional information packages for event employees
- Stadium tours
- Pre-event stadium walk through
- Supervision of event
- Event analysis
- Event payroll
- Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

Candidates must be a graduating senior or graduate level student with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Sports Management. A thorough knowledge of sports administration and management, accounting, computer skills (Excel, Word, and Word Perfect) is necessary. Practical experience at a stadium/arena facility is desired. All candidates must have a valid drivers license.


Benefits:

These are paid positions. It is 40-hour weeks at minimum wage (about $1,000 per month) plus working events for $130 per event.

Deadline:

Visual Communications Assistant:

The Tampa Sports Authority offers a 13-month visual communications assistant internship.

The position requires the intern to perform the following duties among others not listed:

- Update the design of all marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, and other publications for Raymond James Stadium and three Tampa golf courses
- Conduct tours of the stadium
- Design the stadium guide and update the photos included in the guide
- Maintain the TSA photo library
- Maintain the website and social media for the TSA and three Tampa golf courses
- Maintain and design the golf and event calendars
- Work stadium events

This list is a brief example of duties held. The intern will also be responsible for completing additional tasks as they come up.

Qualifications:

The candidate should be a graduating senior or a graduate level student with a minimum 3.0 GPA in visual communications, graphic design, marketing, or journalism. The student must possess excellent graphic design, writing, and photography skills. In addition to strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, the candidate must have a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and the Internet. Basic knowledge of HTML and an individual who works well in a teamwork environment is preferred. The intern must be willing to relocate to Tampa if they are not currently residing in the area.
